Photo Love: Hanging out with family

May 3, 2010

I only left NYC 2 months ago but just booked a flight home for next month.

Photo from here

It’s something about the comfort of familiarity of family (hmm and my mom feeding me great food like the one above).  But it’s also the fact that if I don’t go back now, I may not see my parents and NYC until the end of the year, maybe.  I don’t know if I fully appreciated my parent’s care and affections when I was younger.  But now I want to take care of them and I feel the fragility of age and the importance of not taking time for granted.

There’s my Monday shout-out to not being cheap about spending time with loved ones.  Happy Monday!

I love it. So true. When I lived on the other side of the country from my family, it sometimes wasn’t the easiest to get home to see them, but I would still get here one way or another whenever I could.

I’m sure they must be so excited that you’re coming for a visit!

Cute photo! I’m happy for you that you have a trip home in the works. It is true that it’s easy to take our parents for granted.

I totally understand this! Being far away from our parents, and seeing them only once a year, makes you realize how time should not be taken for granted. Its definitely been a huge part of our decision to move back.

I’m glad you’ll be able to head home soon! Nothing beats a parent’s love and affection – and home cooking!

Glad you can make it back for another trip. I’m a fan of home cooking myself, but I have to go to Ranch 99 to emulate it.

It’s true: as I get older I become aware that every moment spent with my family is a blessing. LLGxx

So true – you don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone. Family should be cherished.
