There is something so iconic and chic about Chanel. Cosmetics, clothing, accessories – they’re all as glam as you can get. Chanel La Vernis nail polish is supposed to be long-lasting and chip resistant. There are of course also gorgeous shades from the lightest roses to baby blue. At $23 a bottle, it’s not cheap.
But is it really a grande dame of nail polish as well? I’ve been tempted to try it and would love to hear your experiences.
Worth it?
i bought a bottle of this about 2 years ago. the color lasts a long time on my nails, but the color in the bottle got clumpy so much faster than the millions of bottles of OPI i’ve had over the years. they do come in gorgeous shades though!
So worth it!

I’ve never tried it but about the most I’d pay for nail polish is OPI. I change my nail color so often that it just wouldn’t be worth it for me to buy something that expensive.

Yes I think so. There’s something so unique about their shades and even if one couldn’t afford a Chanel bag or tweed suit, one only needs to spend $23 to feel a little more glam than usual

i used to have a friend that worked for shisedo. sp? anyway, she knew all fancy makeup brands rather well and she would say they all had the same ingredients, most were made by the same manufacturers as the cheap brands, so….she didn’t think one should bother with the expensive stuff. humph. for me it comes down to color. if i can’t find the right color or right amount of sparkle in the cheaper brands (particularly lipgloss and eyeshadow and blush), then i’ll spring for the expensive stuff!
Haven’t used their nail polish, but their lipstick? Absolutely worth it, no doubt!
Chanel polish is okay. OPI is much better in my opinion.
I swear by Chanel foundation and powder though. It is pricey but it is the best out there. Worth the splurge and I mix it with a little moisturizer to make it last longer.

I’m staring at my chipped polish right now. It’s a miracle if I get a manicure more than two times in 6 months, and unfortunately I never paint my nails. But if I did, I could see paying for $23 for something that will last and apply smoothly. That color is really pretty too.
Hmm if the quality is high, then splurging is worth it on something that you will use often, or if it’s something rare. With nail polish, I’m sure you can find a cheaper alternative – have you seen the new American Apparel polishes? They have a full rainbow worth of shades and are pretty cheap.
Gorgeous color! If you’re in the mood to splurge, and you can see yourself wearing the color a lot, I say go for it. But then again, I never wear polish more expensive than O.P.I. or Essie. I’d love to read your review, if you end up buying it 🙂
i’ve given into the temptation of chanel nail color. it is a once a year indulgence that i consider worth it 🙂
Definitely worth it! It’s actually affordable for a Chanel product, after all! I am in love with the Particuliere shade that came out this Spring, and it is pretty chip-resistant. I say go for it!

honestly it’s not the best formula in the world but that doesn’t stop me from buying it. the bottle gets me every time. i much prefer essie or OPI…
