Imagine dining 16 feet below sea level with an up close and personal view of reef and marine life in the Maldives.  You can do that at Ithaa, the restaurant in the Conrad Maldives Rangaali island.

Talk about an unbelievable view!

Now think about sleeping with the fishes (in a good way).  Yes you can rent this as a suite as well.

Simply amazing.

A 14 day advance reservation is required for the restaurant or room.  More details here.

The pricing is TBD, but if you love ocean life, this is definitely a once in a life time experience (and likely very pricey, so something you’d probably only do once!)

On another note though, my good friend told me there are also tons of great boutique hotels in the Maldives that are reasonably priced.  I’ll try to get a list from her soon!

What destinations do you dream of and what would the ideal room look like?

    Wow!

  • Jessica August 24, 2010 at 10:58

Oh my goodness! This would be an incredible experience. (Though, to be honest, at first I thought the restaurant was an office with all of those table lamps – the office would be even cooler!)

This is unbelievable! Can you imagine going here? I would die, it would be a great gift for an ocean lover! XX!

This does look pretty amazing, but I think I personally would get a bit claustrophobic. I would love to go to the Maldives though and stay in a little hut, I think that would be my dream destination.

I really like your blog so I’ve joined your followers.

This is unbelievable! I would love to eat at the restaurant and hang out in the room for a bit – I might be too scared to spend an entire night down there. Such a great concept, though!

  • Connie @ SogniESorrisi August 24, 2010 at 13:55

  • Salt August 24, 2010 at 14:13

That is absolutely intense! I love the idea of dining in there, but I don’t know if I could sleep in that room. It kind of freaks me out. 🙂

  • lovedfromthestart August 24, 2010 at 15:53

I want to do this! Including the sleeping, though I’m afraid I would wake up and think that I’m drowning.

  • BigAppleNosh August 24, 2010 at 16:41

This looks awesome! I’m going to the Maldives next year, but I don’t think I’ll be staying here unfort. 🙂

  • thehoneymoonproject.com August 24, 2010 at 22:19

Wow, this must be a pretty amazing experience – though I guess dinner/sleep becomes a bit inconsequential when you’ve got the ocean to be looking at! Would be really interesting to know how it feels when you’re actually there…

  • livplusdaveequals August 24, 2010 at 22:26

    omg this is incredible!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • vitaMinn style August 24, 2010 at 22:56

Would really love, love to get a chance to visit Maldives someday. One time when I was bored, I actually priced it out, just to see how much shoes I’d be giving up to visit the place 😉

It seems Europeans are probably in a better position to go than us here in the US. It’s just way too far for us! But who knows, right?! =)

  • JIN August 25, 2010 at 02:10

INCREDIBLE…MY HUSBAND WOULD LOVE THIS! HE’S OBSESSED WITH THE OCEAN AND FISHES

PS: I WOULD LOVE TO EXCHANCE LINKS WITH YOU, OF COURSE, OF COURSE, OF COURSE! 🙂
