Photo Love {Inspiration}: Beauty of snow and kindness

December 6, 2010
Kindness is like snow – it beautifies everything it covers.

I’ve been reading about the first snowfall occurring in some areas and am a little jealous since this little tropical corner won’t see snow any time soon (or ever!) ย I went to school in a temperate climate that got snow in April once (I think the school even closed that day). ย While I wasn’t as happy to encounter the last snowfall (or the dirty slushiness after a few days of snow), I always loved the first snow of the season. ย It was always glistening, unexpected, and covered everything in a soft white blanket. ย It really brightens up my mood to see and experience a snowy night.
A kind gesture or word from someone, similar to the feeling from a first snow, can also make my whole day better. ย I love encountering kind surprises (like my husband planning a surprise birthday cake for me) and giving them as well (dear husband is loving his unexpected Macbook Air). ย Who doesn’t love a spot of brightness in their day? ย
Here’s hoping for something bright and beautiful in your day too (snow or kindness)!
Have a lovely week!

    Beautiful photos! This Californian has never seen snow in her hometown, and only once while at college. Luckily, Tahoe is only three hours away ๐Ÿ™‚ In all honesty, I prefer being warm, but no one can argue that the first snow isn’t pretty.

    I’ll share some snow with you–no problem!

    Kindness at times feels so rare that when you come across the unexpected kind it’s almost stunning. Then there are days when everyone just seems so nice.

    The first snowflakes fell today at the beach… none stuck but still my boys were excited to see them. Love having for seasons, especially since I grew up in Norway…. felt a little strange being without it living in L.A. for a long time.
    I guess now my nice gesture would be to check out the boysยดs puzzle… they are demanding my attention..
    Good evening girl::)

    Oh how beautiful to see this – I also love the first snowfall (and also feel differently when everything becomes muddy slush days later :)). And there’s something so magical about unexpected kindnesses, no matter how little. So lovely – thank you for this inspiration for my too-long Monday!

    Oh I have been missing the snow like crazy! It is 70 degrees here in So Cal, so no hope for any here. Thanks for the pics:)
