Photo Love: Sparkles, chiffon, and sleeves at the Golden Globes 2011

There’s nothing like a few photos of glorious gowns covered with sleek sequins or draped with chiffon on a Monday.  I am reminded that I want a stylist and a Hollywood sized wardrobe.  Here are a few of my favorites.

Anne Hathaway in Armani Prive (love the shoulders)

Scarlett Johansson in Elie Saab (lovely sleeves)

Sandra Bullock in Jenny Packham (the draping and unexpected blush color are so feminine)

Angelina Jolie in Versace Atelier (green is also unexpected and this is just a great sleek style though a bit simple)

Leighton Meester in Burberry Prorsum (while also low-key and possibly not awards show blingy enough, this dress is also pretty timeless)

Eva Longoria in Zac Posen (basic black but what a stunning cut and fit!)

Claire Danes in Calvin Klein (minimalism chic though I think a richer color would have been better)

Mandy Moore in Monique Lhuiller (this is a semi-favorite because I love the top half but didn’t love the strange tulle skirt)

 

p.s. This is the sweetest photo montage of Chris Colfer’s expression when he won the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor.  Yay Glee!

    I have to say—this golden gloves was so fun. I thought so nanyang women looked so beautiful. I think Anne Hathaway and Sandra Bullock look stunning. Love the color of Angelina and Mandy Moore—but the steles were a bit surprising—nonetheless—the look beautiful.

    you know, i didn’t think the chiffon was all that modern but i’d def be willing to try the long sleeve. also, ever since turning 3 years old, i never stopped loving glitter… 🙂

    I thought Ann looked so chic. ScarJo and Sandy both seemed to be a hot mess…. do you really think Sandy fooled around with Ryan Renolds while he was still with ScarJo? I mean I love her but how insanely hypocritical would that be?

    I loved all the sparkles! As a rule, I’m not usually a fan of long-sleeved gowns, but those ladies certainly pulled them off gorgeously!

    I don’t really like Angilizard Jolie but that dress she is wearing is STUNNING…I love the colour green…this dress would be the winner for me~!!

    There were SOOO many fabulous styles on the Red Carpet this time. Very hard to choose but Catherine Zeta Jones looks quite a vision.

    I loved Sandra Bullock’s gown. Claire Danes looked flawless. And Anne Hathaway is always so chic! I saw some tweets that were really bashing the GG fashion, but I loved that people took risks this year! 🙂

    Anne looked sleek and fashion forward and I thought Sandra’s dress was beautiful. Mandy Moore looked so pretty, although I agree it wasn’t 100% love for me either. Angelina’s dress is a gorgeous colour but the cut just screams old lady to me.

    I liked LM in the Burberry!! And Sandra Bullock needs her hair thinned, but I’m gonna give her a pass because girl deserves it. And I’m sure she doesn’t give a hoot what I think.
