Photo Love {Inspiration}: Cherry Blossom Cheer

April 18, 2011
Spring is nature’s way of saying “Let’s party!”

Seeing cherry blossoms in bloom (albeit virtually) indicate that spring is truly here. ย Cherry blossoms, or sakura, are extremely symbolic in Japan; the beauty and transience of the flowers are representative of the life cycles of our lives.
I see cherry blossoms and welcome the renewal of another year and the beautiful plants and flowers that will start to bloom. ย It’s my favorite season and I love the increasingly positive and lighter vibe in the air as the days start to lengthen and the weather warms up comfortably. ย I was in Washington D.C. one year for the cherry blossom season and hope to be in Japan another year. ย I’m also encouraged to travel more and take advantage of the season. ย  If spring and these cherry blossoms are really nature’s way of saying “Let’s party”, I say “Party on!”
What are you looking forward to this season?
Have a lovely week!

I really need to go over to the tidal basin and check out the blossoms before they disappear. Is it horrible that I work less than 5 miles from them and have yet to go see?! Eek!

Cherry Blossoms are just gorgeous! I love when all the plants and trees come back to life! We have some plants on our balcony and a tree right outside the window as well, and I love watching the tiny leaves grow during the spring!

  • Kim April 18, 2011 at 13:18

Love these photos! I wish I had the chance to stop by the cherry blossom festival in SF’s Japantown this weekend, where the blossoms are in full bloom. My favorite aspect of Spring is the new produce in season after a long winter!

  • LyddieGal April 18, 2011 at 14:16

I am looking forward to seeing the pink blossoming trees like the ones in the last photo. The one outside my window is just now showing the first signs of life; maybe it will be blossoming by easter!
