Photo Love {Inspiration}: Longing for the Sea

April 11, 2011
The sea, once it casts its spell, holds one in its net of wonders forever
Jacque Yves Cousteau
Henki Koentjoro in Jakarta, Indonesia

Perhaps the now frequent gray and cloudy days now have me thinking of these stark, watery images.  These pictures though are so much more enjoyable than the multiple puddles lining the entrance to our apartment complex.  They also remind me of the quiet, beautiful strength of the ocean and how much I enjoy scuba diving (though I will also admit to a slight fear of the sheer vastness of the sea as well).  I haven’t gone on any dives for a few years, but I should really take advantage of our locale! I long to relax in a serene body of water and let my troubles wash away.

Do any of you have any fun-filled, watery adventures planned?

Have a lovely week!

I love water, it is SO relaxing!! I love going to the beach even though I am super scared of the ocean and gulp – whales (yes whales, even though I know they won’t come at me in the beach but they freak me out, I can’t even see them in pictures) The vastness of the sea is too scary!!

    xoxo

    Pictures are so tranquil 🙂

  • Tara @ Haute Lunch April 11, 2011 at 13:32

Love these photos! I find the ocean to be so calming. I wish I could say I had some fun, watery plans coming up, but this year has been seriously lacking in the vacation department. Hopefully next year I will be able to go on more adventures! I love to travel!

  • Kim April 11, 2011 at 13:49

I love these photos and also feel a sense of peace in the ocean. I’m not a diver (sensitive ears) but snorkeling is one of my all-time favorite vacation activities. I’ve been snorkeling in Hawaii, Mexico, California, Egypt and Belize, and all locales offered a unique experience. I can’t wait to go again during our trip to Maui this summer! Have a wonderful week 🙂

  • Taylor April 11, 2011 at 14:29

These are amazing, the black and white makes them almost ominous, but the beauty of water is undeniable!

I love your writing style and these images are breathtaking. Nothing better than seeing kids play in water, don’t know why but I take these type of pics of my kids all the time.
