Photo Love {Inspiration}: Productive days and lounge-worthy evenings (worth some Moët & Chandon!)

July 25, 2011
Look at a day when you are supremely satisfied at the end.  It’s not a day when you lounge around doing nothing; it’s when you’ve had everything to do, and you’ve done it.
Margaret Thatcher
2011 Moët & Chandon campaign shot by Tim Walker

We’ve all had those intense days of work or school – the days may be an intense, flurry of activity leaving you pretty exhausted at the end of the day.  But at least you come away with a feeling of great satisfaction because you were productive; you finished a paper, completed a project, or launched something new.
I’ve been pretty exhausted the last few weeks because I launched something new at work.  While my days were long, I feel a great sense of accomplishment now at all that I’ve done.  It has definitely left me feeling like I deserve to rest on a lovely chaise lounge and sip on some champagne.
Remember to relax and treat yourself if you’ve been diligently working away on something.  You did it.  Put on your favorite piece of clothing and grab a glass of your favorite beverage – you deserve to kick back and relax!

Have a lovely week!

  • Tara @ Haute Lunch July 25, 2011 at 13:28

I do love feeling as though I actually accomplished something in my day. The only times I hate busy days are when I feel as though I ran around all day without really accomplishing anything. Either way, some champagne on the chaise is always a great way to cap off a busy day/week!

    Great reminder 🙂

  • Oh to Be a Muse July 25, 2011 at 18:52

honestly, this is so true! i had a day last week where i did absolutely nothing and i felt OK. then i had a day when i did way too much and i felt overwhelmed. but my best days are when i have a list of a few things to do and i get them done–then i feel accomplished! those are the best days. 🙂

  • Josie July 25, 2011 at 19:19

Much as I dislike Margaret Thatcher she makes a good point in that quote! You’re right though, nothing beats feeling you can relax after you’ve achieved something (whatever it is) 🙂

So true! Projects are great because they keep you working toward a goal. But taking time in between projects actually makes you more effective and successful. And we all need a little fun to fuel our engines.
