Designer Thursday: Muted Florals by Erdem Autumn Winter 2012/2013

January 12, 2012
Florals aren’t the first pattern that come to mind when one thinks of winter.  But winter shouldn’t just be about muted earth tones.  I love the subtle pop of color from the floral prints for Erdem Autumn Winter 2012/2013.  Flowers are in abundance, but can be seen in subtle ways like on the shoulder of a trench coat.  There are also undeniable pops of color and the pairing of a rich cobalt blue with a lemony yellow make any cold day a little brighter.  But the same florals could also easily combine with neutral camels and classic blacks for a more toned down look.  Erdem is definitely on my list with these timeless cuts and lovely prints!
I also think I need some yellow pumps now (I never would have thought about Ivanka Trump shoes before, but the shape and price of these are really tempting)…

little luxury list

I actually think florals are perfectly fine in the winter. They remind me of spring :O)

Love your pics. The last outfit is just lovely.

Not sure I would call those muted. They’re still pretty in-your-face.

I love the blue dress and the camel trench with the black lace applique. These clothes would definitely make me look forward to dressing for a “blah” winter day.

You’re killin’ it with these fashion posts. I’ve never been much of a floral person but I could be swayed…

@Kionon – the yellow and blue is definitely not muted! But I love the unexpected pairing with camel which tones it down nicely!

I love it! The florals are all so gorgeous and add depth to the outfit. Right now it’s thick sweaters and coats…the only flowers that I can think of…I can’t because they’ve all died in Chicago 🙁
