LOTC/Fashion Highlight: Maison Martin Margiela for H&M and US Prices- Bountiful layers

October 23, 2012

There is nothing light and fitted about the Luxing it on the Cheap (LOTC) Maison Martin Margiela for H&M collection (well except for one bodysuit).  I already knew the design house had funky styles when I got my first pair of shoes from the brand; my shoes are two-toned, edgy, and very unusual. But that is also why I am so curious about its upcoming collection for H&M.  The cool thing is that the pieces that are made for H&M are actual recreations of some of their most popular pieces from past seasons.

Some of the pieces are unique and fun (I love the fitted jacket and circle shirt), while others are fashion-forward, but harder to pull off at the office.

Here are some of my favorites:

Narrow Shoulder Jacket: $99, Oversized Trousers: $129

Horizontal Dress: $199, Plexi Wedge: $299

Circle Shirt: $79.95, Trouser Skirt: $99,

Suede Jacket: $299, Oversized Skirt: $99, Knee-High Leather Boot:$299

Oversized Turtleneck: $149, Key Ring Necklace: $59.95, Hitched Up Skirt: $99

Hitched Up Dress: $199, Plexi Wedge Boot: $399, Key Ring Necklace: $59.95

Silk Top: $149, Trousers: $99, Silk Skirt: $129

There are some cool men’s options as well.

Men’s Wool Coat, $199

Guitar shaped weekender bag, $399

Thanks to Wendy for the pricing information!

i really like how the draping of material is tailored so the looks are both free and fitted.

This isn’t really my style, I tend to like things that are fitted.but I did see the camel and black leather jacket in ads so we’ll see.

While it’s not exactly cheap, it’s still Margiela at a fraction of the cost. I love that horizontal dress.

I know Dawn but I don’t know Honey my Heart. Sure the more the merrier 🙂
