Travel Log: Things I miss about Tulum, Mexico

December 20, 2012

Why is it that vacations fly by while the rest of our time inches along?

I can’t believe I was in Tulum a few weeks ago.  The Playa del Carmen strip of beaches is hands down one of my favorite beaches in the world (the mosquitoes there are my least favorite in the world – my bites lasted for two weeks!)  The beaches at Tulum were serene, beautiful, and surrounded by impossibly blue water from the Caribbean Sea.  The days were also moderate and warm though not very humid.  I also loved having authentic Mexican food – fresh, spicy, and oh so tasty!  I wish I had spent more than a few days there but my visits to North America are always jam packed.

I would definitely go to the biosphere and cenotes another time!

Oh well, until next time then!

Until then I will think about…

…guacamole and chilaquiles almost every day and light, fresh drinks…

It’s one of my favorite places on earth, honestly. It’s not quite as commercial as Cancun and the beaches…divine.

The beach is beautiful! With two little ones, we can’t get out and vacation like we used to. But someday… And yes, vacation goes by entirely too fast.

That sunset on the beach is gorgeous! I’ve never been to Mexico but I’m definitely adding Tulum to my list now and I’ll have to remember to bring bug repellant.

  • […] Island is on the same level while I also loved the serenity of the beach in Tulum, but Boracay’s waters sets it apart.  I gave a preview of my trip to Boracay in this post […]
