Beauty Product Review: Jurlique Citrus Purifying Mist

January 23, 2013

Living in a tropical climate for most of the year has its pros and its cons.

Pros include beach ready weather for most of the year and an easy wardrobe (dresses and more dresses for me!) Cons include the feeling of being hot and sticky most of the time you are outdoors and a greater propensity to have an oily T-zone with otherwise dry skin.

I used to use a daily moisturizer with SPF but found my skin to be a bit too greasy afterwards.   I since reverted to a BB cream with mineral foundation, but dry patches of my skin would still peek through.  I was sent a bottle of Jurlique citrus purifying mist and wasn’t sure what to make of the product.  What is a mist and how is it supposed to help me?

I used this mist as an occasional pick me up during the day.  I was surprised that this mist acted as somewhat of a toner and made me feel a little refreshed, without leaving a film on my skin (unlike many beauty wipes).  It actually feels as natural as it sounds and while my skin is still a little shiny after I use it, it also feels a little cleaner.  I’m not in NYC now, but would use this to wake up my winter skin.  This is also the kind of product I’d love to use while traveling to quickly and easily refresh my skin.

But don’t just listen to me, check out the Dermstore.com description below:

Jurlique Citrus Purifying Mist provides natural protection from free radicals while delivering a refreshing spritz, leaving skin feeling cleansed and revitalized. Witch hazel and lemon balm improve clarity, balance oiliness and soften skin while glycerin and aloe soothe and prevent moisture loss. Vitamins E and C and grapefruit produce a protected, vibrant complexion.

I’d definitely like to try this mist. I love visiting tropical climates but am always happy to return home to dry heat and cold. I love vacation photos, but my face is always so shiny in them from the heat and humidity!

We are blog sisters in humid climates! Yes staying (less) oily is key! You also have such beautiful skin and should give more skin care tips!
