CnC Living Travel Log: My favorite beach in the world in Boracay, Philippines

February 12, 2013

Paradise for many people is a beautiful beach surrounded by blue waters under a bright, clear sky.

Paradise could definitely be White beach in Boracay, Philippines. This may be my favorite beach in the world.

Seriously.

Raya Island is on the same level while I also loved the serenity of the beach in Tulum, but Boracay’s waters sets it apart.  I gave a preview of my trip to Boracay in this post when I shared a few pictures taken with my HTC One X+ as part of #HTCOne #TroopOneX (find me on Instagram to view my latest travel, fashion, and everyday finds) and was glad to be able to take a few quick snaps on the beach.

Picture yourself walking up along a strip of white, powdery sand into the clear water.  You walk out 25 feet and the water gently laps at your knees.  You walk out another 25 feet and are gently swayed by the waves.  Walk out another 25 feet and your hips are at water level.

It is just unbelievable to walk out so far (I didn’t test out when it reached 5 feet, but we went at least 75 feet away from shore), look back to the shore and simply let the water ebb and flow around you.

We mostly stayed on the Western beach, called White Beach that is met by the Sulu Sea.  There are three stations that used to be docking stations for all boats that would pull up to shore.  We stayed at Station 1 and I would highly recommend this area because it is a quiet, pristine stretch that is only a 10-15 minute walk from the more energetic island center at Station 2. The nicest resorts in the area (Fridays, Discovery Shores, and Shangri La) also happened to be located at this station though they are still a ferry and car ride from the airport.

I’ll write about my own hotel experience later this week, but here are a few favorite memories from the trip…

…lounging around while watching the beautiful skies over a calm sea (even when the skies weren’t blue, the water still was!)…

Psst, look closely at the sailboats for a famous fast food logo.  We thought it would be hilarious if you could actually swim to the boat and order fries!

These photos are amazing, and I loved seeing the one of you taking a photo of your husband! I don’t know what my favorite beach is, but I’ve never seen more crystal clear water than in Belize – the beach itself wasn’t too inviting where we were, though, so I need to think about that one!

Wow this looks amazing! I love the lighter colored aqua water, the beautiful sandy beach…just slight differences from where I live, but enough to entice me to visit! Looks like you had an amazing time, it’s on my mental list now.
