Savvy vs. Splurge/Fun Finds: Dior Oui Ring and Etsy alternatives

March 12, 2013

Why are French ladies considered perpetually chic?

One of their secret weapons is the prevalence of established  home-grown fashion houses, like that of Christian Dior.  Christian Dior created his namesake brand in 1946 and created a “new look” of women’s dressing that controversially included corsets, shoulder pads, boned bodices, and flared petticoats that emphasized women’s curves.  He created looks that were carefree, fun, and undeniably feminine.  This vibe certainly contributes to the aesthetic of the brand’s jewelry as well.

A popular piece of jewelry was the “Oui” ring that debuted a few years ago.  This delicate scripted word is finished off with a small diamond and was an instant hit.  While the Dior version is sold out, there are a few versions on Etsy that are equally as fun, though without the diamond.

Yes (oui), indeed!

So would you be savvy or splurge?

I think the savvy affordable pieces looks just as nice, considering! I would save my splurge for something else, because I love shoes and bags a bit more, lol! 🙂

Aww, thanks sweetie! I definitely like to share savvy alternatives. The savings can go to a cool purse or a fun trip right?

Considering the original is sold out, I would go for the alternatives! I do like the “oui” ring, but not enough to justify the $675 price tag. The middle alternative is nice 🙂
