What was the first piece of jewelry or apparel that enchanted you when you were a child?
I still recall being a child and being completely enamored with my mother’s Nina Ricci perfume bottle. A pair of delicate crystal doves (designed by Lalique no less) seemed to be in a perpetual kiss atop that bottle. It was just the most chic bottle in the world to me and a sign of femininity and timeless design.
While I have been more familiar with the design houses’s perfumes, I also see its delicate, demure, and feminine styling in its fashion collection as well. Nina Ricci has now designed a capsule Collection called Les Envies Spring 2014 which is full of blues and pinks as well as fun prints including those famous palomas. There is nothing ground breaking in the collection, but it is ephemeral, light, and pretty. I imagine it would be the spring wardrobe of a young, Parisian lady with Sunday tea at Laduree and picnics by the Seine on her mind.
