Paris is just one of those cities that elicit images of fashion, romance, and tasty, tasty pastries.
I think many people may be entranced by bold editorials like this one by Harper’s Bazaar when they celebrated the best of couture; this luxurious photoshoot brings forth images of over the top fashion and women decked out in couture creations celebrating worksmanship of an age of decadence.
While this version of Paris certainly exists in certain pockets, I am interested in the Paris that I can more readily see, touch, and experience. I love that Paris is a great walking city (though look down, there are also many, many dogs and owners that may not care about curbing their dogs!)  There is a tangible beauty to the sacred and sweeping architecture of the Notre Dame Cathedral.  There is also a great satisfaction in sitting back in a cafe and people watching to pass the afternoon (I love how some cafes turn all the chairs out towards the main street or square!) I may attempt to conduct an outfit shoot by the historic Eiffel Tower and take a stroll along the Seine.  The Pont des Artes holds special significance for me because I got engaged there 5 years ago!!!  It has been a great and wild ride since then.
I will certainly swing by the famous stores (it is Paris after all!) but I will also appreciate the opportunity to walk through a beautiful city, relive my own history, and contemplate lovely moments going forward.
Have a lovely week!

I loved this photoshoot! The gowns and location are absolutely exquisite. Totally pinned this on my pinterest boards. I don’t blame you for wanting to see a different side of Paris. It’s good to know all parts. Hope you’re having an amazing time.

Yes isn’t this an exquisite editorial? I did get to walk around Paris a lot and saw a side with cool markets as well. It is great to see different sides of a city!

I wish I were tall too! Oh the outfits I could wear then! Until then I guess we will have to be faux- tall with our stilettos!

Wow, I am completely blown away by this editorial! The couture gowns are exquisite, love the pastel pink fairytale dress by Valli and the white Chanel wonder. Isn’t that the same red Armani dress we saw in Cannes? Its even more beautiful in editorial. Love this post!!

Sam, aren’t these gowns from a dream or what? I totally love them! I’m not sure if the red gown is the same from Cannes but it is amazing!

I like how you can see two sides of Paris. The only time I went was when I was younger, so I can’t remember it much. But this editorial and your speaking about it makes me want to go back ASAP!
