Can one own too many lip products?

Definitely! Lip products don’t have a long shelf live either so it is really important that you choose ones you will really use and love.

I didn’t need another lipstick. But I was really curious about NARS satin lip pencil after reading about a few other NARS lip pencils. The NARS velvet lip pencil has gotten rave reviews (the Amazon reviews are consistently glowing). So I bit the bullet and added the satin lip pencil in Majella to the mix when a Sephora discount popped up a few months ago.NARS Satin lip pencil side - by Chic n Cheap Living

I’m really glad I got it because I will now readily and happily say I would definitely pay $25 again for this product (ok I paid less because of the Sephora discount). I definitely love my drugstore lipsticks, like the Revlon Super lustrous lipstick. But I really love the versatility of this little lip pencil and it almost seems like a lip liner and lipstick in one product. It is basically a lip crayon in an easy to hold, easy to apply pencil form. Why aren’t more lipsticks made this way?

Most importantly, the color glides on easily (I guess it is most similar to a cream texture) and stays put. I’m just wondering what color to add next!

NARS Satin lip pencil

Recommend

– Yes, this provides a long lasting, intense color in an easy to use applicator

Pros

– The color doesn’t rub off easily and the pencil helps create an even line

Cons

– None so far. Yes it is pricey, but I think it is also worth the price. It does need to be sharpened so you will need a sharpener with a larger opening and I like to use this Nars sharpener that has a small and large opening.

Price

– $25

The color looks lovely on you. I like that it’s a crayon but offers satin-y effect. Thanks for sharing. NARS doesn’t disappoint.

Elle, I know NARS is known more for its blush, but the satin lip pencil is pretty amazing! I definitely recommend it, especially when you can get a discount!

That shade looks so good on you! I can’t get over the coverage from a pencil. WOW! I need some new lippies! I’ve only used their blush before. Great review.

Thank you Kim! You are always too sweet. Yes, isn’t it crazy that this came from a pencil? The key is that the formula isn’t drying and glides on really smoothly!

I still haven’t tried the NARS lip pencils but they always get such rave reviews… and now here’s another one! Clearly it’s a sign that I need to pick one up!

Allison, yes I was pleasantly surprised by the NARS satin lip pencil. This formula may just be the right balance between the more matte and glossy versions as well. I hope you get to try it soon!

Given that your lips are perfect (is it the DIY scrub or what), I like this buttery pencil, and the colours matches your complexion beautifully .

Coco, you make me blush! I actually do use my lip scrub before putting on a shade like this. It really helps to keep my lips smooth! Thank you for your sweet comments!

Looks like a keeper. I, too have only tested NARS for blushes and eyeshadows…that may have to change.
