Store Review: Petit h Hermès pop-up shop

What happens to all the scraps in a design house?  In most places, they simply make their way to the curb.  But in 2009, Pascale Mussard decided to make use of all those gorgeous odds and ends by launching the Petit h “re-creativity laboratory”. {Source}  Many of the textile remnants are now remade by silk, leather, and crystal artisans into unique accessories and pieces for home decor.

I stopped by the pop-up shop in Singapore and saw the array of purses, necklaces, furniture, and accessories. Crocodile skins and silk scarf remnants were constructed into whimsical pieces of decor, like gigantic change trays, tea box linings, or the most luxurious dog house ever.

Imagine the leather pieces that go into the famed Birkin and Kelly bags being re made into something complete, like this panda chair!

Or perhaps a crocodile leather stool?
I really like the different uses of silk scarves in jewelry (knotted bracelets and necklaces as well as the most affordable items in store from S210-S$270) and decor (crystal vases covered with corded silk)…
…as well as the unique use of hardware (the famous Collier de Chien and Kelly hardware as well as that of many other pieces adorn these mirror).

The furniture and decor can be the same price as several elusive Birkins or a nice car. But I really enjoyed looking at the unique range of products. It was almost like a petit art and decor exhibit.
