I love it when a designer creates a different take on a conventional piece for the home.  We normally think of bird cages as distinct structures constructed of wire and usually placed in a corner.  Gregoire De Lafforest thought of things a bit differently and incorporated a bird cage and glass containers into a table!  This is such a beautiful and functional idea.

Otherwise this weekend I am…

…going to France!  A friend here is getting married in a small chateau in the French countryside and we’re taking a red eye flight tonight.  It will be a great chance to see a few friends from grad school.  We’re doing a short trip so I won’t really spend time in Paris, but I do have my priorities straight. This normally gluten free, sugar free girl is most definitely going to be partaking in lots of baguettes, macarons, and croissants.  I really do practice a well balanced diet, but the French create such baked masterpieces.  I also plan to taste a few famous macaron shops in preparation for giving you my recommendations for best macarons in Paris!  I’m hitting the gym in a few minutes in preparation for this carb fest.
