Have you ever tried using oil to clean your face?

I never could quite understand the concept, but started reading more and more about how oil is actually great for balancing the natural oils in your skin as well as a great moisturizer.  I thought it would be worth trying and was eager to try the skin balancing oil sent over by Jurlique.  A little goes a long way and I would apply 2-3 drops of the oil to my face in the evening. Surprisingly, my skin was left with a moist, but satiny finish after I applied the oil.  It definitely combated my dry patches and also did not irritate my skin (I was worried I would get acne since I am prone to breakouts).  This blend of oils (including evening primrose, macadamia nut, avocado,  and jojoba) also smells pretty wonderful. My skin was noticeably softer and smoother, but not oily.  I’ve since used it on cotton pads as well to help remove makeup as well (it does a great job at taking away mascara residue and foundation!)

I’m a new convert to using oil on my skin and this experience has convinced me to try out oils as facial cleansers as well.  I’ll let you know how that goes!

– Yes, definitely

Pros

– It moisturizes skin without making it greasy and doesn’t upset the skin

Cons

-It isn’t cheap, but is worth it and my current bottle has already lasted more than 3 months (and that’s after accidentally spilling half the bottle, boo!)

That’s the best stuff! When Jurlique sent me a box of goodies that was one of the products. Remember my review? http://www.averysweetblog.com/2013/05/jurlique-skin-balancing-face-oil.html I love it and still use it today. And I was very leery about putting oil on my face. Excellent Review!

Kim, I loved your review too! I really was hesitant about putting oil on my face, but this product definitely changed my mind!

Kim wrote positive reviews about Jurlique too, which makes two totally reliable reviews 🙂

Do you think this would work with the acne creams I currently use every night, or mess it up? I can’t even skip a night or I will breakout!

Hey Lydia, I’ve used the skin balancing oil after applying Clearasil or Oxy and don’t think the products caused any reactions on my face. Hopefully you would be able to use oil on your face and the creams you currently use too!

Will have to try this! I’ve used Moroccan oil on my face to love the feel. No oily residue either!
