I’m not necessarily someone that tends to favor simple lines and minimalism.
I love gilded accents, playful ruffles, and bright colors. My love for Hollywood regency style and playful details runs deep. But I have slowly incorporated a bit more minimalism in my life (this is certainly the influence of my husband as well as living in a place where I can’t fit as much). I have focused on decor that is simple, functional, and pretty too. My favorite piece of more recent decor has been an antique looking golden tray table (similar to this one) that sits in the corner and can hold fun pieces of decor as well as all the various remote controls in our living room. I love that it can serve many functions and look good in many settings.
Similarly, while I love frills, I have simplified my wardrobe in the last few years. I don’t have ultra modern clothing, but I appreciate the clean lines and versatility of a crisp white shirt or a long, striking maxi skirt. This Elle Sweden editorial struck me as simple, but also completely elegant and sophisticated. It is a good reminder that sometimes it is great to just keep it simple and sophisticated in other aspects of our lives as well.

I love keeping things to a minimum and I’m striving to live a life like that. I’ve gotten rid of so many things. HaHaHa I love this. I don’t like a lot of stuff any aspect of my life.
I feel like it’s easy to get overwhelmed by excess. as much as we love it in the moment, it can be hard to think clearly when there is so much going on. embracing something minimal can be totally refreshing and welcome.
So clean and elegant, yet remaining exquisitely feminine. Sigh. I love it.
