What is important to you?

One of the most important things to me is to maintain my good friendships.  I have to admit that I haven’t always been great at keeping in touch with friends though.  When I went to graduate school abroad, one of my girl friends warned my then boyfriend (now husband) that I was terrible at writing and e-mailing friends back home.  Luckily, my husband is pretty fantastic about maintaining regular contact with friends and family.  But even though I didn’t always demonstrate it, I have always valued my good friendships.  My closest friends are people who grew up with me and sang songs with me in the backyard, shared awkward teenage moments with me as we navigated teenage gossip, and collaborated with on transformative and sometimes, traumatic experiences (like encountering an unreasonable client at work).

I’m trying to do a better job at keeping in touch with friends and really reaching out to them.  We may all be in different life phases (do you ever feel like everyone else is married or has kids?) but we still can bond over favorite foods, cheesy television shows, and use those next milestones in life.  These photos from Harper’s Bazaar reminded me of good friends will always be part of my ideal life as well.

Have a lovely week!

This is precious!! All my friends live in different places really. I do wish they all lived in the same spot, but that’s ok. I think it’s important no matter where they are to maintain a great relationship as it does make one feel so great!! I hope you have a wonderful week my dear!! xx

Kizzy, you are so right! My friends live all over the world and I do try and still maintain good relationships with them (thank goodness for FaceTime and email!) Happy holidays dear!

Sometimes you forget how hard it can be to keep up with old friends, how quickly time slips by and something as simple as a phone call seems difficult.

Now is definitely the time of year to get back in touch with everyone you love, even if it’s been longer than it should.

I think for me it’s important to have good, healthy relationships. I haven’t always had that in the past and it’s amazing how different relationships really change who you are as a person.

I love these hats in the images. Yes, I totally understand what you mean, as most of my friends are in different situations and going through various stages in our lives. But, we try to skype together every couple months. Have a wonderful Christmas! xx/Madison

I love this photoshoot! it’s so awesome! You can feel the connection and fun they’re having. I don’t have many friends unfortunately. A lot of my friends are married with children. Sometimes when you’re not doing the same things as them, they don’t include you in things. I have a couple of friends, but they’re not nearby, but it’s nice to talk now and then.

Kim, I love the feeling of fun in this photo shoot as well. My friends are all over as well and in different stages of life. My friends in Asia though are mostly single though or newly married so at least we get to do things with them. It’s always nice to talk to friends near and far and I hope that we can talk soon! Happy holidays dear!
