Did you grow up with snow?

I grew up in a house with a cute little front yard dotted with a few small rose bushes.   In the winter, snow would pile up around the rose bushes or on the small ledge next to the house.  I liked to make little piles of snowballs and pile them high on the ledge or simply lie down waving my arms and legs wildly to create a snow angel.  There was also nothing like letting individual snow flakes collect on my gloves so I could look at the individual patterns.  Later on, I would brave the slopes in the Northeast as I attempted to ski a few blue trails here and there.

I saw some snow in NY a few weeks ago but certainly don’t see it in little tropical corner.  I do miss it a little though and all of the activities I used to do in the snow.  I don’t miss the cold, but I do miss bundling into my fluffy layers and marveling at the beauty of the first snowfall of the season.  Snow really makes me think of NY and of home. Alas, maybe next season then?

Have a lovely week!

We had masses of snow in the winter & I always felt like it was never going away, I hate winter. It was always so cold and we would have to drag ourselves to school because it was never cancelled even though the roads were a bit dangerous. Winters in Scotland are much milder and it’s not so bad, but I don’t like being cold in the slightest. Gorgeous pictures though, but winter is not my thing, hahaa!! Have a great week doll xx

I have to be honest– I am definitely missing even the chance of snow (that is typically all it was growing up in Atlanta). I miss winter fashions, and the freshness of new snow and I am sorry I don’t get to see my daughter be astounded by it…. fingers crossed for next year!

It seems we only get snow, every 10 years or so. HAHAHA Our climate is not conducive for it. Love this photo shoot. I love all the sweaters she’s wearing.

It snows here once every 5-10 years we sadly didn’t grow up with snow all the time. I think I would have had a very much different winter childhood experience if I did. I am always grateful for your kind comments…Have a great week ahead!

I have to say – as snow is piling up outside my window – that I might miss it a tiny bit, but for the most part, snow is a nuisance. It makes the roads dangerous, in a world where everyone feels like they must go everywhere/do everything regardless of the weather. You have to shovel it. If there is a big storm, even after most is gone, the large dirty piles of snow can last for months and be depressing to see.

When it first falls though, the world looking all clean and white is rather nice.

This reminds me that I really need to be watching the Olympics this year. And yeah, there is a ton of snow in the states right now (except where I live, of course).
