I’m creating my own magic and expecting a baby girl in two short months!

At times, pregnancy has been as beautiful as this photo shoot.  I am fascinated that my body is forming a new body – cell by cell, hair by hair – without any conscious effort on my part.  I truly have started to comprehend that life is a miracle and love to marvel at her active kicks and stretches.

My husband and I are amazed to be creating a life and developing and nurturing a new person in this world.  We are humbled by this process and this opportunity; since we have already enjoyed being married for a few years already, we are also ready for this new phase in our relationship.  I’m a very lucky lady and my husband has been supportive in every way from accompanying me to doctor’s appointments to ensuring that I always get a seat on the train.

But I have waited so long to share and haven’t even told all my Facebook friends about this because pregnancy is also terrifying.  Unfortunately, it really is a scary process to watch your body change and not be in control of everything that may happen to you and your baby.  I am fiercely protective of this young life, but also realize how vulnerable I am now. I had some pains earlier in the pregnancy and was anxious about circumstances beyond my control.   Luckily, I got through that stage and we are both doing well.  I now realize that being a parent is worrying about your child from conception until…forever.  I am also sharing this now because I would want the support of loved ones (and you dear friends!) in every scenario.

So I’ll be making a few changes to this little space on the internet.  I’ll be taking a little break from April and would love to have a few of you friends guest post here.  Let me know if you’d be interested in posting! I’ll also be transitioning to another domain in the next few months.   But don’t worry, this isn’t going to become a mommy blog though maybe I will talk about family life a bit more.

I’m happy to share this news with you and I hope you have a lovely week (and long weekend for my American friends!)

Congratulations! I am so excited! Did you announce this earlier and I am spacing out! This is big news…and so soon! You little devil keeping that awesome secret – really happy for you!

    • Chic 'n Cheap Living February 18, 2014 at 09:40

Johanna, yes I kept it a secret until now! I was a bit cautious and worried in the first two trimesters, but am at the point where I am feeling better. I also realize I can only do so much right and should just stay healthy and go with it.
Thank you for the offer of advice! I’ve been reading a ton and am just anxiously waiting.
But I would love to have you over here on the blog when I take a break! I’m thinking I’ll be a little busy 😉
