Decor Thoughts: Central Park view via Bette Midler’s New York home in Architectural Digest

June 4, 2014

Sometimes love at first sight can happen to a place and not just a person.

I feel in love immediately with Bette Midler’s home when I saw it in Architectural Digest.

I’d love to own a home in New York some day that not only has a lovely interior with great height and open space, but also has access to a nice view and outdoor area.  Bette Midler’s home has all of these aspects and really reminds me of an elegant country home rather than one in the heart of the city overlooking Central Park (ahh the room one has when she combines three apartments!)

Wow! Her house is too beautiful. It’s impressive. It’s like a country oasis in the middle of a big, beautiful city.

The outdoor space to her home is just amazing. What magnificent views. I own a home in NYC but it looks nothing like this :p

I would expect nothing less than fabulous for Bette M.’s house! I love a house to have bright natural light and to feel and be really clean. After years of living in art deco apartments — sounds really cool, but they don’t ever get clean with all that broken art deco tile in the kitchen and bath–these days I love things that are hotel clean, lol.

What a perfect little oasis. I can’t even fathom what that must cost, but hey, I’m sure she wants for nothing.
