How I’m keeping my New Year’s Resolutions

January 8, 2015

It’s officially 2015!

With a new year, comes the willingness and determination to reset our lives as well.  I’ve been slowly but surely thinking about my resolutions and also adding one or two as I look through other people’s resolutions.  I think I’m almost there and am determined to accomplish them.

Katie Ermilio Fall 2011

Here is how I intend to keep my resolutions:

1. Write it down

I heard a statistic that 92% of people who are successful at keeping their resolutions do so simply by writing them down.  So I’ll make it tangible and actually write them all down as opposed to filing them in a corner of my mind.

2. Make it realistic

I’m not making any over the moon, absolute resolutions.  I’m keeping them manageable.  Sure some of them require a few steps to accomplish, but these stretch goals are still attainable.

3. Break it down

Sure I can write down something like “Exercise more.” But at this point more would be more than twice a week.  I want to make it more detailed and say that I want to be able to get in at least one strengthening exercise session a week and three good cardio sessions a week, which may just be reached through good walking sessions.

4. Get support

Finally, resolutions, like most other goals are more easily realized when one has a good support network.  So I’ll lean heavily on the husband and possibly you my virtual lovelies to reach my resolutions.  I’m making this a more fulfilling, lean, and healthy year and wish the same to you as well!

These are perfect ways to keep resolutions…I don’t really make them, but this is great. We shouldn’t be so hard on ourselves to keep them, but just trying to do what we can :))) Love this picture, the dress is gorgeous 🙂 Xxx

I love your attitude Kizzy and won’t be too hard on myself re: the resolutions but will do the best I can!

Great game plan! So far, I’m doing better than usual at sticking with my exercise resolution.
