Do you like to wear headpieces? Would you wear a couture headpiece?
I love fascinators, hats and veils so I would answer with a resounding yes! I’ve been fascinated by Philip Treacy ever since I learned that he was the designer behind some of the most unique fascinators worn by English royalty and celebrities. You may recall his most recent red and black masterpiece atop Sarah Jessica Parker’s long locks at the Met Gala. I love the flaming red color and pops of textures from the fur? pom poms and twisted tendrils. I’m reminded of a bonfire enveloping everything in its path.
Love it or hate it, you can’t deny that his headpieces make a statement!
I was intrigued to learn that Treacy worked with MAC on a collection. He also created three headpieces in this collaboration to highlight facial structure and of course show off the makeup as well. The makeup includes false lashes mascara, fluidline gel eyeliner, pro longwear paint pot eye shadow, lipstick and highlighter in rich shades of reds for the lips and blues for the eyeliners (homage to the crown?)
Otherwise this weekend I am…
…taking the little one out to meet a few other little friends. Well, she will only really play with one other little girl who is 10 months old. But my husband wanted to meet up with her parents because they seemed really cool (the mom is originally from NYC too!) It is fun to migrate to this stage of life where we have family playdates. We will be joining another set of friends and their kids later that day for dinner. Then Sunday will be Mother’s Day! I already got a ridiculous gift from my husband but all I want to do is enjoy a nice, leisurely time with my family. The best gift is being surrounded by my loved ones.
