How does music play a role in your life?

I was struck by this quote and how it depicts the versatility of music – it can bridge, express, and set the tone for so many aspects of ourselves and our moods.  There is a calm that comes with a beautiful waltz and sometimes a sense of sadness as well (I’m thinking of one of the key pieces in “Swan Lake” which is beautiful and tragic as well).  It can also incite feelings of excitement and a desire to dance; a new favorite for us is “Cake by the Ocean” with Joe Jonas because the little one loves to shake her booty to that beat.  Sensuality and music can also be paired together quite easily.  This editorial with Nicole Kidman certainly depicts a beautiful, gritty, retro feel for sensuality.  Even sensuality in music can be expressed through different ways – it can be more upbeat with a fast tempo or slower and more relaxed.  Regardless, I know music will always be part of my life even if “Old MacDonald had a farm” is one of my more listed to pieces these days!

Have a lovely week!

Music is huge for me as it was great distraction when I was ill, helping to keep my mind occupied with other things. I almost always have my headphones on when walking down the street in NYC so people won’t try to talk to me. You know how it goes.

I love it! Don’t know if it’s the black and white, but Nicole looks really really young here. Like back in the day when she was a redhead. Beautiful images.

Nicole looks so good in these pics. I love her hair! Music is definitely big in my life, but I mostly only listen to Chinese music.
