What are your favorite colors?
When I saw this editorial by Elle Italia February 2016, I immediately thought of a color explosion. Everything was bold and colorful and a few of my favorite colors – pink, red, and black – made an appearance. Even the makeup (do you see the amazing fuchsia eyeshadow in one shot?) is ultra colorful. I really like wearing outfits with a few colors too. Even though I’m a native New Yorker and have quite a few black pieces in my wardrobe, I increasingly like a splash of color in my outfits. I love floral prints with a mix of red, orange and pink or sometimes just a bold color like the deep blue of the dusk on a summer’s night.
I also found the quote above interesting because I’m also a fan of the colors of sunset. I adore the pink, lilac, blue, and coral colors of a beautiful sunset, like the stunning colors I saw in Phuket – still my favorite place to see sunsets. They are beautiful in and of themselves, but also bring to mind a certain sense of serenity and beauty. So perhaps colors too bring to mind memories and our favorite ones are associated with people, places and times that made us happy. I have my favorite colors, but will always smile when I see an array of colors before me. Now I have to remember to keep on seeing the gorgeous colors of sunsets and enjoy them.
