There is something about warmer weather and lakes. I’ve been thinking about lakes more and more with our upcoming trip to New York and upstate New York and this lake landscape editorial via Elle España May 2016 ignites my desire to visit a lake then.
My sister-in-law is good friends with a family who likes to take their boat out to a nearby lake during the summer. I’ve seen quite a few pictures of the kids enjoying a ride out on the lake during warmer days or my sister-in-law enjoying a leisurely fishing day there. I also knew a few friends who would rent cabins by a great lake upstate every summer. What a beautiful tradition to enjoy the great outdoors with your family in this way (though I’ll keep it real and can only rent cabins or go glamping).
I’m not going to get to rent a cabin soon, but I will be a little closer to nature during this next visit in the next few weeks. I’m looking forward to state park visits, mini hikes, and hopefully a little swimming as well in a lake or gorge. It will be nice to introduce my little city girl to these beautiful sites, especially lake landscapes. I hope we can start our own summer traditions and get back to nature as well too.
