“The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mode but the true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It is the caring that she lovingly gives the passion that she shows.”

What is considered beautiful?  Is it large, innocent doe eyes framed by long lashes?  Is it a bow shaped mouth with a naturally rich shade of pink? How about long, flowing locks that move with the wind? There are so many different aspects that go into being beautiful.  But how does this physical beauty contribute to a beautiful soul?

Well, it doesn’t.  Beauty comes in many different shades and forms.  I love the examples of diverse beauty from this T Magazine Beauty issue no. 2 editorial because it reflects a few nontraditional types of beauty. But a beautiful soul is something that we should be aware of and continually cultivate.  I adore Audrey Hepburn’s quote above that a woman’s true beauty is reflected in her soul, caring, and passion.

I think about beauty a bit more these days as I’m raising a little girl.  I don’t know if her eyes are a little more like mine or more like that of my husband.  Will her hair become a little wavy or remain fine?  I’m sure no matter how she looks, she will continue to be beautiful to me.  I can only hope that I can raise her to be kind, compassionate, and caring as well and be beautiful inside and out.

Have a lovely week!

I always look at someone’s inner beauty! All the outer eventually fades! It’s what is in your heart.

Beauty in the eye of the beholder – famous yet so true. I define beauty differently than I did in my youth. I think someone’s personality is what makes them truly beautiful. Truly.
