What do you think of models?  I never really thought too much about the impact of a good model, but a good model can truly transform a picture.  I’ve gone to forums where people are really critical of models if they aren’t quite expressive enough in their pictures.  Or they knock certain models for being famous because of their social or family connections (you can guess who!) But if you think of modeling as silent acting, as model Arizona Muse notes, then you realize that they really have to do more than just pose and look pretty.

I came across this editorial aptly titled “Models” which displayed different aspects and classic poses of modeling via Vogue Italia July 2016.  This editorial seems to have a throwback vibe and makes me recall classic and simple poses.  I love the Marilyn vibe of the opening shot and the sultry, almost sad look of the model here.  But it is true – sometimes I don’t get anything when I look at a picture.  Then sometimes I look at an editorial, like a recent favorite one from Kate Moss, and I sense the model’s energy and mood – full of vitality and happiness.   I only realize how much impact a model can effect a picture when I take a deeper look.  So I’ll still enjoy pictures of models in beautiful clothes, but I’ll also appreciate how a model can totally make a picture truly gorgeous,

Have a lovely week!

Yes, Modelling well really does take skill, especially for the complex editorials. I love the last image, it’s stunning. HOpe you’re enjoying the new week so far. /Madison

Modeling is such a hard job that almost everyone overlooks. I see it when we do our shoots for work…it seems all champagne and caviar dreams but i’ve observed it to be kinda exhausting. anyway – i love the images you pulled for this post!

I think the golden age of mdoels had to be the 90’s. I still haven’t seen anyone today who rivals Linda Evangelista or Christy Turlington.

There are some models whom I feel are insanely talented. People who make you crave/covet what they are selling, even if you don’t need it. I agree, it is a silent form of acting; but I think that many celebrities {or the children of celebrities} have made the industry a bit of a mockery. They don’t have the bone structure, the walk, or even the appeal of many true models, yet they are booking more gigs than others. That ‘s a huge peeve of mine, but something you’ll see in every industry. Connections get you everywhere.

Really good models have a way of bringing everything together! The clothes! The back drop! The FEELING, MOOD & VIBE! It all comes to life. These pictures are stunning.
