Dreambaby baby gate

No registry is complete without baby gates

August 11, 2016

What kinds of gifts are you getting your friends and family?  I always get my best friend beautiful home decor or baking tools because she loves classic design and baking.  I have a few friends that are foodies so I try to send them fun snacks from Asia (Kim, I found a fun snack I’ll have to send you some time!) Nowadays, I find myself shopping for baby gifts or birthday gifts for little ones.  I’m know to be an avid researcher so several friends have asked me to help them build their registries.  I also try to get gifts that can be used regularly.  So I’m happy to partner with Diapers.com to offer a little insight into a gift that would be useful for young families.  No registry is complete without baby gates and I wanted to share my inspiration for baby gates.

To be honest, the baby industry creates many adorable, but useless items.  I’ve gotten sucked into getting cute bathrobes, but have tried to stick to the most essential products. But I would definitely recommend baby gates, especially for multi-level homes. Early walkers and toddlers are CONSTANTLY wandering around their homes.  The Dreambaby Chelsea Swing Closed Security Gate from Diapers.com is a great option because it can fit into most entryways.  It can easily be installed and moved to different points in your house. Baby gates prevent toddlers from accessing riskier areas of the house (stairs, rooms with tools, any off-limit rooms).

I also like baby or safety gates that are both beautiful and functional.  Pinterest has such lovely inspiration.  If you have the time and money, a custom gate like this (source) would also be gorgeous. But let’s be real and admit that there are more Pinterest fails than successes.  The Dreamybaby gate or similar gate is a great option for most people.

Note that different types of baby gates should be used in different locations.  This Consumer Reports guide is great at outlining the types and features of baby gates. This guide also has great pictures depicting what to look for in a baby gate.  I’m a mom and avid shopper and would recommend the baby gate as a useful gift for expecting friends.

I will always love fashion and design, but will start adding features on cool gear or tips that would useful for anyone around the mini-set. Some posts will be for anyone traveling with a young one –  “How to survive vacation with a baby” and some will be about useful gifts for families.  We are increasingly being surrounded by little ones so I hope that you find the posts useful.

I’m actually contemplating a baby gate for my dog, Jake, because he’s always getting into all sorts of trouble when I’m not home! 😛

You are just too sweet and such a great friend! I can’t wait to try that new snack. Baby gates are the best. I don’t have children, but I had two dogs and used baby gates for them. LOL So they work for pet mothers also. HAHAHAHA It will help stop them from getting to the mail and chewing it up.
