A perfect afternoon in the Maldives

November 3, 2016

What is your idea of the perfect vacation? We all go on vacations that reflect our interests from food and culture to adventure sports.  Our vacation in the Maldives was definitely a beach or island vacation.  My husband was verrryy excited to enjoy the natural scenery, swim, and sip a cold beer or two underneath an umbrella on the beach.  I was afraid it would be monotonous and a little boring.  But we were fortunate to have something to do every day.  But we had a perfect afternoon in the Maldives on our second day.

We took a boat out to the fish and crab shack.  The little one was delighted to feel the breeze in her hair during the short ride.  She wasn’t as interested in the food, but loved playing with her new bucket and shovels.  It’s funny because she doesn’t actually like sand or seawater.  My husband and I were content eating our fish and chips and taking in a quiet afternoon.  We were the last guests on this little beach as the afternoon rolled into evening.

We had a wonderful, spontaneous time.  I’m usually a big planner, but have loosened up my standards, especially with a little one in tow.  I’m so glad that she had a great time running around, discovering pink lifeguard chairs, and seeing hermit crabs (no, she’s not a fan!) The skies turned a little grayer later on, but we didn’t mind. Sometimes, an unplanned afternoon in a beautiful place is the perfect afternoon.

The Maldives was already on my travel bucket list and your experience just moved it up. I really like the laid back and spontaneous vibe of island getaways. It’s a nice contrast from more structured trips like the one we just took to Seattle.

What a lovely stay. I love how your little loved her new bucket that’s so sweet. This is for sure one of my favorite places to visit. Can’t wait to go. And thank you for sharing such beautiful photos?

What a joyous holiday! I hope you had a fabulous time and your little one is growing up so fast, wow. I am a major planner, but I also do loads of spontaneous things, such as random excursions and surprise visits, etc..
Stunning photos! Thanks for visually taking me on your trip, now if only I could have warmth instead of cold. 🙂 Happy weekend, lovely. x/Madison
