“But the holidays are about sharing stories and being in each other’s presence.”
Malcolm D. Lee
What are your holiday plans? Do you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, or Kwanzaa? Or do you simply like to glam it up for New Year’s Eve? We haven’t done much the last few years, which is a little sad. We will try to go to service during Christmas, but don’t have family here so we don’t get together for any big meals or parties. It’s also tricky going out (aka not going to happen) for New Year’s Eve parties these days too with the little one at home. When I saw this issue of Vanity Fair Holiday 2016 – with Jennifer Lawrence by Peter Lindbergh, I thought of these years when I used to dress up for wonderful parties celebrating the countdown.
This year, we wanted to start new traditions. We are inviting a few people over on Christmas Eve for a little party. I haven’t seen some of these friends in months, so it will be great to catch up and share some stories from the past year. While we may celebrate different holidays, we can still celebrate another year together. We are also hoping to find a volunteer activity we can do with the little one. We would love to instill a spirit of giving and philanthropy. Let’s see what happens! Either way, it will be nice to make new traditions and spend the holidays with family and friends!
Have a lovely week!
