How do you view yourself? I thought about this when I saw the editorials Girls by Patrick Demarchelier for UK VOGUE February 2017. I am patient, persistent, and loyal to my friends and family.  But I am also a work in progress.  I can be moody, stubborn, and quick tempered.  Now that I have a daughter, I try to be more aware of my shortcomings and model the best behavior for her.

Hence, I know that I need to teach her not only to be the best person that she can be, but also effect the world in a positive way.  I hope to find do more volunteer work in the coming year and also get my family involved.  I’ll be working with a child advocacy/abandonment group and am excited to contribute. In addition, I want to teach her to stand up for herself and her fellow women and minorities.

The Women’s March was an inspiring display and movement.  I hope that it continues so that women raise up other women and disadvantaged groups. It is about making women’s voices heard and push for real change. It would be wonderful to raise my daughter in an era where she can be truly equal in every way. Then I hope that she not only views herself as someone that can accomplish great things, but someone that will do them.

Have a lovely week!

The women’s March was inspiring even though some of the celebrities were a little OTT with their speeches. I am a work in progress too but I do think we all are in some ways or another. It’s also what makes us ‘us’, right? That’s why we’re unique in our own ways. xx

The women’s march was truly inspiring. NOt only here in the States but internationally as well. It disgusted me that He who shall not be named didn’t even acknowledge the events. It’s like going backwards. Beautiful editorial.
