Have you ever been to the Middle East? Unfortunately, I’ve never visited the region. I’d love to wander through historic sites in the U.A.E., Oman, and Jordan. It is an area with such a rich history and distinct culture. I would want to witness and observe the noms here. It is certainly interesting to see this editorial of Melodie Vaxelaire for Vogue Arabia March 2017.
She models gorgeous silhouettes and prints, but is still covered and modestly dressed. Women in this area may not always express themselves creatively or sartorially. Hence, this viral video of women playing basketball and skateboarding caused quite a stir. How will a fashion magazine be viewed in this region? Will local women influence its voice or will it be a voice effecting women? I’m glad to see a creative outlet and inspiration available there. Each country has its own subsets of cultures and movements. It will be interesting to see the evolution of Vogue Arabia here.

There’s a lot of money in Dubai! Beneath their wardrobes many women are excellent in makeup application & dress. They shop very high end.
