It’s funny to look back at ourselves and how we evolve as we get older. I thought about the concept of age and maturity after seeing this editorial of Michelle Pfeiffer by Mikael Jansson for Interview Magazine April 2017. I’ll admit that I was a bit of a princess when I was younger. I am the youngest child and only girl so I expected/demanded little gifts from my father regularly (pencils and stickers!). But he also indulged me so the cycle continued. As I got older, I also liked little gifts from boyfriends and got into a group of friends where we got each other gifts for the holidays. Eventually of course, I learned that giving should go both ways and material things aren’t everything. I really love it when my husband cooks meals when it’s my birthday or a holiday since I’m a picky shopper anyway.
As I became more mature, I became more of the giver. I want to show the special people in my life that I appreciated them. Thus, I love to host people for dinner (food is love!) and will still give gifts to my closest friends though we stopped gift giving a while ago. In addition, while a few of my ex boyfriends were good cooks, I learned and became a decent chef myself. I wanted to create tasty, healthy dishes and feed my loved ones. Over time, I’ve become the one doing the nurturing as I’ve added the roles of wife and mother. I have also become more patient and thoughtful in time. I’ll likely evolve a little more and hopefully for the better!

I was the same also for the same reason because I too am the only daughter and was pretty much spoilt by my dad and later boyfriends. Things have definitely changed and I credit it to my husband and being a mum. Sometimes I look back at my younger self and cringe, why was I so selfish?
Being able to adapt and evolve at different stages of our lives definitely goes a long way to keeping things interesting 🙂
She is such a timeless beauty. It is funny how we grow and mature, though I feel like some people never get the memo and never grow up hahaha

Michelle Pfeiffer looks fabulous! Love these photos. I use to mimic her in Grease 2 LOL Loved her in Scarface. Such a wonderful actress. I’ve always been a giver! Whether to family or friends. It’s just in me. Lately I’ve cut back, because people friend just to get something. Some people I’ve given to that I considered friends only care about the gifts and when I needed a friend (to talk to) they definitely weren’t there. for me LOL if anything they got ugly! but i found out their true selves. It comes with giving unfortunately.
