What movies have you watched recently? I just saw “Wonder Woman” courtesy of a friend with free tickets (woohoo!)  It was pretty empowering to see the Amazons furiously fighting and living life on their own terms. When I saw this editorial of Sofia Coppola by Steven Meisel for WSJ Magazine June July 2017, I started thinking about some of my favorite movies. I enjoy many different movies from romantic comedies to dramatic pieces.  Hence I adore both “Love Actually” as well as “The Shawshank Redemption”.

I haven’t gotten to see many of Sofia Coppola’s movies except for “Marie Antoinette” which was panned by critics. But, she just became the second woman to win best director at Cannes for “The Beguiled”.  This seems like a much darker movie and an interesting contrast to “Marie Antoinette”.  Movies can cover such a wide range of themes and emotions.  Soon I won’t have much time for movies with a newborn.  But I hope I can still sneak in a movie or two when I have time!

Have a lovely week!

I love this editorial! her films are kind of dreamy and slow-paced, but i like them overall.

I just watched Love Off The Cuff. It’s the third in the Love In A Puff series. It’s been awhile since I watched a m,movie in Cantonese.

I’ve always like Sofia Coppola! I remember her start in the GodFather Movie. I liked the Marie Antoinette movie visually, more than how the story was told. That cover photo is absolutely gorgeous! I heard wonder woman was very good.
