Lanvin Autumn/Winter 2017 Ready to Wear Details
I’ve always loved the feminine, but quirky details at Lanvin. Alber Elbaz seemed to exude a warmth and sense of fun that carried over into his designs. Lanvin flats were among the first high end shoes I’ve purchased. I continue stalking them on sale and on eBay and will gladly pay for great Lanvin flats. While I’ll always keep a tab on Alber, I’m also curious to see what Bouchar Jarrar will bring to Lanvin. She aims to express “the tenderness and force of women” to the brand. Feminine forces are in full force with pink frills, metallic floating birds, and loose layers of chiffon. I adore the feathered belts and that is definitely on my wish list! The collection contains soft colors and delicate touches which matches my aesthetic.
What are your go-t0 shoes for summer? I have a rotating set of shoes. These include my reliable, FitFlop sandals which I can wear while walking for hours (I upgraded to this better looking pair recently). I also have a few pairs of flats including my new Lanvin flats which come in a million colors, like this awesome leopard print pair (see my Instagram for my new pair!) I actually rotate between quite a few pairs of flats and wedges because I also enjoy shoes for summer that aren’t sandals.
Summer should be all about the cute manicures or pedicures, but I’ve fallen way behind on those fronts. Sometimes we chip a nail or just don’t have a fresh manicure right? I want a comfortable and light shoe, but ideally one that hides my toes. There is such a thing as too much foot cleavage, haha! These are shoes that are in classic colors that will go with everything else in my summer wardrobe. These flats, wedges, and espadrilles are a few of my favorite shoes for summer that aren’t sandals.

Maxi length skirts/gowns, luxurious layers, and clean coverage are all part of Lanvin’s pre-fall 2011 collection. Day and evening looks seamlessly come together and many pieces can be mixed and matched to be worn any time of day. While I don’t spot any signature large ruffles or bows, the pieces are versatile, easy, and cool in an almost casual way.
It’s the perfect collection to wear when you’re hanging with your pet flamingo.
I guess you could wear it for other occasions too. I thought this was a pretty unique photoshoot and of course the clothing is lovely.
I commend H&M for really opening my eyes to Lanvin. While I may not immediately buy this collection, I have developed an appetite for the slinky jumpsuit below and can at least set my sites on Lanvin shoes or handbags (the Happy crossbody is too cute!)
Funky. Ridiculous. Luxurious. Lanvin.
Oh how I would loved to have pored over these sketches! Fashion of decades (even centuries!) past and the inspiration behind them are such a cool peek into the perspectives of glamour and trends of that period.
