Photo Love {Inspiration}: Remaining Young

May 23, 2011
An inordinate passion for pleasure is the secret to remaining young
Oscar Wilde

I’m comfortable with my age.  I love being married, having a home to decorate, taking on increased responsibility at work, and thinking about how I will make a life for my future family. But with age, comes more accountability.  Housing prices, credit card payments, and home maintenance have also filled my thoughts.  Is it possible that you don’t have as much fun as you become older?
Sometimes, it is good to step back and think about the world through a child’s eyes.
Enjoy the small things.
Become fascinated with the flowers you pass by every day.
Remember to giggle.  A lot.
Have an appreciation and pleasure for the things that surround you and remain young at heart.
Have a lovely week!

Beautiful post doll!! I think it’s true- we should appreciate everything and laugh more because having a good sense of humor is good and healthy!
Sometimes I feel that with me being older now, I’m not as fun as I use to, but then I realize it isn’t true because as you get older your preferences simply change, and it’s ok. 🙂

I think you can still have fun with age, you just have to be intentional about making it happen! Don’t let the big stuff get you down, take breaks from ‘reality’ as it were and do something spontaneous or something fun like going on a picnic or for a ride in the country! 🙂

  • THE ALTERNATIVE WIFE May 23, 2011 at 16:26

Ah to be young again. It was so much easier then, right? Although I do love my life and I’m not complaining but it’s nice to sit back and remember those times.

I love that Oscar Wilde quote and the pix are amazing 🙂 xoxo

Love this post. I told the hubs sometimes I miss the days when playing with your friends was the only thing you had to do…no worries or responsibilities. Sometimes it’s always nice to revert back to your childhood and just have fun!

  • Diana Mieczan May 23, 2011 at 19:34

    what lovely images!

and there are so many responsibilities that come along with being an adult. i still think i like being an adult better than being a kid. but, it would be good to mix the best of each and get the most out of life! 😉

  • Meghan May 23, 2011 at 20:12
