Beauty/Hair Product Review: Bumble & Bumble Hair Powder

May 2, 2013

Some people are just born with great genes.

For instance, the 6-foot tall, skinny, alabaster-skinned, “I get told I should be a model 50 times a day” woman I saw in the supermarket has her fair share of beautiful genes; I made sure not to stand too close to her so that I could be reminded of my own petite-ness.  The rest of us have pretty good genes in other departments.  I was blessed with pretty decent hair (it will curl and hold styles fairly easily) and haven’t really had too many white hairs yet.  But I still freaked out when I found a white hair a while back and would like to ensure I don’t see any more, thank you very much.

I was intrigued by the packaging and the multiple uses of the Bumble & Bumble hair powder as another way to cover any potential gray hairs.  But mostly, I liked the fact that it purported to take away oiliness and help maintain a hairstyle (think old school hair spray with color).  I tried this product and definitely find it useful for maintaining a nice hold, but the nice even color came with a price (my that brown color could get everywhere!) Either way this is a nice option for setting your hairstyle, mattifying (I just made up that word!) your hair, and temporarily evening out your hair color.

As you can see my casual braided updo held and actually my braid was a bit fuller than normal as well!

Ok, I was just about to get excited. I have grays that I cover up and this would’ve been a great temporary fix inbetween coloring. But the mess 🙁 I have some samples of their shampoo & conditioner. I’ve never tried bumble & bumble. Excellent review!

I really need to find a dry shampoo that lasts longer than a few hours – i put it on in the morning and before i know it the oilyness has overtaken it!

I haven’t heard of this product before but now you have me really intrigued, I would really like to try it out, no so much for the colour but for the fact that it reduces oiliness, as well as holds a hairstyle. I hope I can find something like it here. Your hair looks lovely hun!

I’ve tried this product as well and can attest to its magical powers! Definitely give yourself some time to work it in and to wash off your hands afterwards!
