FFF – Elie Saab Spring Summer 2014 Couture Collection and Kid’s birthday parties

Happy Fun, Free Friday lovelies!

Fashion Finds

Couture is something most of us can just dream of – imagine custom made clothing touched by multiple artisans skilled in creating fanciful embellishments, lace, and trims.  Ahh maybe some day?  Couture week is on now and some of the creations are simply mind-numbingly gorgeous.

I’ve always admired Elie Saab since I first learned of him after purchasing a Pronovias line wedding gown and seeing Halle Berry pick up her Oscar in a striking Eli Saab gown.  Wedding gowns are certainly natural creations for him because they really highlight his use of extravagant embellishments and 3-d details in striking silhouettes.

He stayed true to form in his most recent collection.  Definitely hop on over and zoom in on the view of these dresses.  Notice the hundreds of hand sewn sequins, beads, 3D flowers, and chiffon designs.  These pieces are truly exquisite.   Each piece looks light and fanciful, but you can tell that a lot of skilled hands created the details on top of each gown.

The collection was broken into different color schemes though there are similar shapes in each color (fitted waists, full, but light skirts).  I love the first black, white and blush piece and blue embellished gown.  What are your favorites?

Otherwise this weekend I am…

…doing a little bit of work (deadlines, deadlines!) and also going to a friend’s son’s birthday party.  I can’t believe I’m at the point now where I’m going to kids parties!  I also have no idea what’s “hot” in terms of children’s toys, so I had to get some suggestions from the parents.  I guess I’ll learn about all of that some day! I’m also going to try out a new casual dumpling restaurant so that should be fun.  I can have dumplings any time!

What are you doing this weekend?

Have a fabulous weekend!

When I think of Elie Saab, I always think romance– and this collection is no exception. Each piece seems thought out to the most minute details. The final white dress is gorgeous.

My weekend will also be filled with work! My husband has to work so I am going to do the same (that way we can try and sync up our off time). Also playing with my little one… as for children’s toys, I’ve discovered that often the most simple end up being the most loved!

Mind-numbingly gorgeous is the word. I love all of them, but if I could choose only one, it would be the first displayed. One never knows what to buy for kids parties, it’s always better to ask parents. Just get yourself ready to be stoned by the shrieking :-)) much Love,

I actually posted these on my FB page the other day because this collection is just super hot. I love everything about it. I think Elie Saab is taking the place of Marchesa in my heart.

I have young nieces and nephews so I usually just ask the parents what their kids like, but if all else fails, gift card to a toy store.

Please vote for me in this WWDMagic contest–you can vote today even if you already voted before! Today is the last day to help me win! http://bit.ly/1j4DVeI
