I used to be part of a big group (girls and guys included) in college.  But that faded over the years, especially since I have been abroad so long.  I’m not a hermit hiding behind the internet – I promise!  But I have a pretty eclectic group of friends from stay at home mom besties to high flying corporate executives to former international socialites. While these ladies may have met at a party or two, they don’t have a lot in common besides me.

But sometimes, I wistfully wonder what it would be like to have a female crew.  We’d recommend TED talks to each other, know and get each other into the hottest restaurants in town, and have the occasionally gluttonous brunch.  I met a group of ladies at a recent party and found them pretty cool in different ways.  We started talking about travel stories and vowed to go to the Maldives together next year.  While it may have been the champagne talking, I certainly wouldn’t mind going to the Maldives in general.  But it was a reminder that it’s never or too late to have a squad.  While we may get older, we should also remember that there are also still many people we haven’t met yet.  Who knows – they may just be members of our squads someday.

Have a lovely week!

I used to have a big group of friends in college but we kind of scattered after every one got married,. Now I have what I call clusters of friends that I do different activities with. Maybe I should try to bring them all together.

I definitely don’t have as bi a group of friends as I did in my uni days, but I love the friends I do have, even if we have all scattered a bit. I find as you grow older people move and change more. It’s possible to still be great friends despite the distance! 🙂

Hope that you’re having a great week so far! 🙂
