“I have no time for women who don’t support other women. It’s the ultimate compliment when a woman tells you that you look good.”

When was the last time you were supported by another woman?  I saw this simple and minimalist editorial of Victoria Beckham for Vogue Australia November 2018 and thought all about girl power. Oh and btw, how cool is the upcoming Spice Girls reunion tour going to be right?  But anyway, I can definitely see why we envy other women we may deem privileged, cunning, or getting by through their looks or connections.  Or we may think that other women can be catty, cutthroat, or just plain mean. While we can’t change how other people may rise up or act, we can change how we act towards our peers, mentors, and the newer generation.

I recently attended a seminar geared towards women in or interested in technical marketing.  I met a group of women that were just so warm and inviting.  Though we didn’t get to speak at length, we told each other that we would make each other aware of other networking or educational events.  That afternoon, I was already invited to a WhatsApp group of these like-minded women.  They really have been kind to share different groups, courses, and events that would be interesting. In turn, I also recommended a group to a young entrepreneur that I thought would be helpful.  Now we will be attending another women’s networking event together in a few weeks as well.  Women supporting women, or just people supporting people is a wonderful thing.  Why put someone down when you can lift her up with a few encouraging words?

Have a lovely week!

I love her!! I think if you don’t support other women, something is seriously wrong. women need to stick together because it’s everyone else against us really. you can support right and wrong but always support fellow women. we need to bring ourselves up to equal measures really. it makes the world of difference when I have support of my friends. love this post 🙂 x

Ooh you said it Kizzy! We need to bring ourselves up to equal measures and support means everything! Why compete endlessly right?

I don’t get why women feel a need to compete with one another. I mean we ‘re all different and have different things to offer. I connected with a beauty influencer at a focus group over the summer and we’ve been hanging out and supporting each other ever since.

i adore her so much and she really established herself as a fashion icon! And yes, I don’t understand why some women can be so nasty to each other, we need to stand together and be supportive of one another.

I agree, and that is why I love my small group of girl friends, we are all so diverse and support each other in family, have events and support each other in business, etc. It’s so empowering when we as women can come together, there is too much exclusivity and I have no patience for women who only want to tear you down, or compete and be catty. Love Victoria B, and these shots. <3 /Madison
