“Opportunities don’t always come dressed in neon colors.”

Have you ever created opportunities for yourself? Or do you think we’re fated to travel along the paths set out for us? One can’t argue that circumstances can create pretty stifling conditions that dictate our paths. How would we know a different way of life if we’ve never read about it, seen it, or experienced it? I used to think that it was crazy that people said that some people couldn’t create different ways of life for themselves. But then I saw how cycles repeat themselves. People are surrounded by family and friends and can barely break away to create a different type of life.

That’s why I’m glad that I’ve sought my own opportunities, especially over recent years. I was looking for a career change and found it really difficult to get into another job. Sometimes I just felt like I would always be able to do the same thing. But I found one job because a friend said that an acquaintance of his was looking to fill some roles in her company. I found another opportunity because a new friend really wanted me to join her team. Unfortunately that one didn’t work out because it wasn’t the right git. But I really appreciated that someone was looking out for me and willing to give me a chance in a different role. I’m again looking to create my own opportunities.

Sometimes it’s hard work to find those opportunities. They aren’t going to neatly lay themselves before you. But once you really start looking for them and get support to find them, they become a whole lot easier. So here’s to that next golden opportunity then!

Have a lovely week!

This s certainly a loaded topic. it seems well fed people in the west with their first world problems believe in the whole “you can do anything” matra. but the reality is much more like west world where people are indeed stuck in circumstances beyond their control. even in the west you see people who have everything and in where they do not struggle and everything falls in to place with minimal effort and other people who have to endure one hardship after another through no fault of their own. and no one really knows why. thats why religion was invented…

When I was in college actually did a number of internships and I always used them as a opportunity to pick up new skills and network. I missed out on many trips and fun activities with friends but it was all worth it for what I got out of those experiences.
