Sasha Pivovarova for Vogue Greece May 2019

“I’m a human, and I’m multidimensional. If I was the perfect form of anything, I’d be boring. If I was a free spirit all the time, I would be boring; I would lack depth. If I was dark and enigmatic all the time, then I would lack relatability.”

Halsey

How would you describe your key attributes? I saw this editorial of Sasha Pivovarova for Vogue Greece May 2019 and the Halsey quote and started thinking about multi-dimensional people. Actually some people are fairly steadfast in maintaining their behaviors. They are consistently late or always effusive in offering praise or perpetually downplaying their own accomplishments. Basically some people will always display the same types behaviors and it would be hard for them to change.

But we may become more nuanced as we get older. We have a little more experience with the world and we may change our ways. I am normally a reactive, almost fiery kind of person. I don’t like seeing people mistreat others and will say something. Of course, I don’t take lightly if I think someone is acting with bad intentions towards me as well. I used to scowl at every person who bumped me or jump down my husband’s throat at the slightest hint of a critique. However, I’ve learned to step back a bit. I try to put positivity out to have that reflected at me as well. Sometimes I have to admit if something is my mistake as well. Not everything requires a reaction.

I’ve also adjusted my behavior in other aspects as well. Basically I’ve learned that I don’t always have to be a particular way. Sometimes I adjust myself based on the situation or group. Other times I have to admit that my behavior just doesn’t make sense anymore. Hopefully being multi-dimensional means being open to growing and being flexible.

Have a good week!

Lovely editorial. I think as humans, we are always going to have different layers about us and it’s okay. It’s normal to act differently in certain situations, i.e., business environments vs. hanging out wtih friends and family yet still the same person. Having an awareness of how we act is most important.

i love Halsey!! this quote is so true to how i feel as well. i’m multi-dimensional, lots of people try and fit in one kind of box and i just can’t do that. I like different things and have different moods. she’s one of my favourites!! hope you have a great day lovely 🙂

It’s a lovely editorial and interesting quote! I think I’m always trying to better myself – my kids inspire me to try harder and better and be more patient. Like my Dad I can be a bit firey, haha! But kids force you to slow it down, accept that little things were happen, and use bad moments as teachable things rather than times to yell. It’s a constant work in progress!

Hope that your week has been a good one and you have a nice weekend ahead of you 🙂
