FFF – ‘Please be Seated’ at the London Design Festival

September 20, 2019

Happy Fun, Free Friday lovelies!

It’s too easy to get mired in the chaos and bustle of our daily lives. I will always be a city girl, because I actually love that almost frenetic energy that comes from the daily hustle and bustle present in cities. So that is also why it’s all the more sweeter when I really stop and enjoys a few moments of rest during an otherwise busy day. Paul Cocksedge created ‘Please be Seated’ in Broadgate at the London Design Festival to allow people to sit and walk through this residential installation. Cocksedge worked with interiors company White & White to upcycle scaffolding for this large-scale project. He states that “The curves raise up to create backrests and places to sit, as well as space for people to walk under, or pause and find some shade. It walks the line between a craft object and a design solution. It occupies the square without blocking it.” People seem to have seamlessly gathered there whether by themselves or in groups in an informal new community center – how beautiful!

Otherwise, this weekend I am…

…trying out a few things. My little lady has expressed a desire in dance so we are checking out a dance troop for her. Hopefully the weather improves and we will also take the little ones to a playground and we can also do some bed shopping (it’s going to take a while). I will also try out a new gluten free recipe for the little ones – yes for almond flour and coconut sugar!

What are you up to this weekend?

Have a lovely weekend!
