Beauty Product Review: Nails Inc. Wave Magnetic Nail Polish

February 21, 2013

It is an undisputed fact that fun manicures and interesting nail polishes are the hottest new beauty trend.

Actually, this may be more than just a trend because women are much more willing to experiment and have fun with their nails than with their faces (i.e. those lacey eyelashes looked great on “The Hunger Games” but could you wear it for any other occasion besides Halloween?) I have seen so many more brightly colored nails and interesting manicures not only on the streets, but in the office as well.  My personal nail polish collection has increased exponentially in the last few years as I am always looking to add interesting colors and finishes.

Thus when I first heard about magnetic nail polish, I knew I had to try it out.

Nails Inc Wave Metallic polish in Trafalgar Square against purse- by Chic n Cheap LivingThis magnetic nail polish (shown in Trafalgar Square) is an opaque polish with magnetic particles that can be manipulated into patterns.  There is a small magnet tool that can be held over freshly painted nails to create the pattern.  Note that nails must be freshly painted and I actually painted one nail at a time and then immediately held the nail under the magnet.

The magnet may be a bit tricky at first because you have to hold it over wet nail polish and then roll it ever so slightly from one side of the nail to the other to ensure that the pattern appears over the whole nail.  When I held the magnet in one place, the pattern only appeared in that place and it was a little odd.

Otherwise this is a fun polish and the shade by itself is opaque and chic.  Have you tried any magnetic nail polishes?Nails Inc Wave Metallic polish in Trafalgar Square - by Chic n Cheap LivingNails Inc Wave Metallic polish in Trafalgar Square with bracelet- by Chic n Cheap Living

I have seen these polishes at the store but haven’t given them a try! I need to wear more polish – usually I just go for clear or light pink due to chipping, but I want to branch out a bit more. Your nails look great 🙂

I’ve seen these, but haven’t tried them yet! I think it’s fun! You did a great job and the polish looks great on it’s own too! Beautiful color.

That looks fabulous! I am lazy with my nails so this kind of no-effort effect is right up my street.

I’d love to try this! I totally agree that it’s much easier to experiment and try fun new things with your nails than with your makeup.

I love the look of a metallic polish, actually making magnetic is kind of a fun twist.
I do agree I’m a little more experimental with my nails than my face and I just love how much more put together I feel with a fresh manicure.

I’ve always wondered what it would actually look like, so thanks for sharing. I’ll have to get myself a bottle.
