In recent years, I have increasingly had a desire to visit the Nordic countries. I was lucky enough to make it to Finland (beautiful landscape and wow, so cold during the summer!) but would love to explore more destinations in the region. Iceland is definitely one of the places on my list. The vista, night sky, and now ice caves look simply stunning. I saw these pictures from Skarphedinn Thrainsson and was enthralled with the colors and light in the caves that he photographed. I’ll be adding this otherworldly locale to the bucket list!
Otherwise this weekend I am…
…inviting a friend or two over for a casual dinner party. We went to a friend’s home last weekend and it was a nice, relaxed affair. It will be great to catch up with friends in our own space without caring about making reservations and getting the little lady wrangled up and clean in time for a public appearance (confession: I like to put her in dresses or her nicer clothing when we go out but keep her in layettes (onesies) when we’re home). Now I have to think about the menu…

Yes! The ice caves in Iceland look like they’re out of some science fiction movie! I’d love to see them someday!
